
Minamata COP -6 Updates
Activities: Calls for proposals
For the pre-COP-6 online events week, Knowledge Labs, and Exhibition Booths
The Secretariat of the Minamata Convention on Mercury is inviting proposals for pre-COP-6 online events, Knowledge Lab sessions, and exhibition booths ahead of the sixth meeting of the Conference of the Parties (COP-6), scheduled to take place from 3 to 7 November 2025 in Geneva, Switzerland.
Opportunities for participation:
Pre-COP-6 Online Events (13–17 October 2025)
A virtual platform to share technical, policy, and research advancements. Proposals should focus on mercury reduction, environmental co-benefits (e.g., pollution, biodiversity, climate), or cross-cutting themes such as gender, technology, and policy innovation.
• Format: 60-minute interactive sessions
• Speakers: Maximum of 5
• Responsibilities: Organizers will manage event logistics, promotion, speaker coordination, and reporting.
Knowledge Labs (during COP-6)
Held in the exhibition area, these are 45-minute interactive sessions allowing presenters to engage with participants using digital or printed materials.
• Submissions must include draft visuals (PDF, JPEG, PPT, or video).
Exhibition Booths (during COP-6)
A physical space at the Geneva International Conference Centre to showcase initiatives on mercury policies, technologies, awareness efforts, or partnerships.
• Open to governments, IGOs, NGOs, the private sector, and academia.
Parties and accredited observers are invited to submit proposals by Friday, 25 July 2025, 17h00 CEST at the latest.
